Default Passenger airbag error but no passenger airbag

Howdy All

In my EF I just have the drivers airbag, but I am getting the error codes for passenger side airbag being deployed (code 33). If I try and reset the codes it changes to repaired passenger airbag (code 73). Then if I reset it again it disappears. Unfortunately it returns after a random amount of time.

Are all airbag modules the same and the passenger side airbag wiring just has a terminating connector? What else would cause this? Where is the airbag module located?

cheers
Scott

yes, if there is no airbag, there is a resistor, it may have died or could be loose.

what is the car, could it have had a dual airbag and someone replaced the dash shell with one of a single airbag car, to save cash from buying both airbags.....
