Car design is something you could never win with I think.
I think it looks good, conservative but nice. You wouldn't mistake it for anything other than a BMW.

I don't mind it either. If anything, a little too conservative. I'm not sure how much the front end suites the back either.

Agree 100%. I like it. Not what I would have but like it. I would prefer the M5.

An improvement on the previous model, definately. But the rear-end treatment still irks me.

Shrug, I like it. Much better than the previous model. Remember that the 7 series is a luxury series not boy racer series. It's not meant to look radical.

I don't mind it. The front could do with a more aggressive treatment and a deeper bumper and I'm not a fan of the rear light treatment, but it's a much better effort than the last one.

Certain models ie 3 and 5-series yep, but generally very polarising.

Im actually a fan, atleast its different.

I like all his designs, other than the rear of the 3 sedans; thats boring. 5 series is a stunner.

That rear end is just fine, your a little limited in that area.

Chris Bangle is a legend.

this isn't his best work, it is rather bland i think. but i dont think anyone has had as bigger impact on the automotive industry as he has had in recent years. he's the designer everyone loves to hate. cmon.

Ive actually had the misfortune of driving one..... Not a pleasent car
yes its got lots of features but the doors were tinny, the engine (even tho a recycled benz unit )was asthmatic and there were far too many squeaks and rattles, panel finish and material was shocking

In regards to the new 7 i reckon once they release the sport model kit for it.. would look hot, the tail lights have a nice shape but they should be smoked ... or something the light clusters look

one thing im dissapointed to see is that BMW have evidentally ditched the soft amber glow on the dash and gone for the everyman and his dog style blue :(

No I like them too. I prefer most BMWs designs compared to the ugly Italian brands like Fiat, Alfa and Lancia :

I like it mostly - rear design is a bit, how do I say it - Korean? Front looks good and interior (as always from BMW) is awesome.

Finally, I know what it is now, THANK YOU!

There's one of these monstrosities pootling about the inner northern suburbs in Brisbane. I've seen it loads of times and have often wondered what it was... because it's been rebadged as a Mercedes-Benz..! From memory it's got the Merc badge on the front grille and in the centre of the boot... with an E320 badge also on the bootlid... he ain't foolin' anyone. :togo:

LOL I liked the old one and I like this one. That interior looks like you'd need a PHD to light a cigarette though...

I personally don't like it the look of it much.

The body is a little plain and as stated many times...conservative.

The interior looks to be really good quality, but I prefer the apperance and layout of the Falcon interior.

If the Falcon had an interior of the same quality as this 7-Series, the roads would be wet with saliva, all leading to Ford showrooms. How could anybody resist it?

Nope, BMW Is one of the few companies that strive in design, they (BMW and Bangle) blur the lines of art and cars (well, for the most part, there is some disappointing designs). BMW don't imitate, unlike most companies, they forge a head with intelligent designs, and i won't be to surprised that if 3-5 years time we'll see BMW clones...

I've seen a much worse back end on a BMW.

Reminds me of the big Maserati. Nothing wrong with that. Altho as said previously it is not uncommon for other makes to use BMW design cues.

That Sangyong on the previous page... I think it IS an old rebadged S class (91-99)...?

...this looks so much better that the previous 7 series...and don't get me started on the 6 series.

The only thing funnier is that people pay so much money for such an ugly 6 series.

Proves that and idiot and their money can easily be parted.

Ditto..look like a Maserati Grandturismo 4 door thingy.

PS there was/is a website that started many year ago collecting signatures asking for Chris Bangle to be sacked from BMW.

I'd google it but after 5 or 6 cans tonight I can' be bothered ....I'm going to bed....
