Myself and my mate Aaron (we work together) both really, really wanted to go to this. But given it's on a Friday we cant (In Melb..)
So we got tickets to 'Sidewaves' where Saosin and Scary Kids are playing (the two bands we wanted to see) which is happening on the Thursday night at the Corner Hotel in Richmond..

Yes! so can't wait for this festival it will be awesome, great lineup too...
Going to go grab my tix today going for: Offspring, Incubus, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Bleeding Through, Carpathian, Mindless Self Indulgence, From Autumn To Ashes, Saosin, Alexisonfire, Shadows Fall, Divine Heresy... hopefully all the emo is playing when the metal/hardcore is on so I miss that sh!t lol! Oh and KSE have never been better... I would rate their new stuff as good as the older. HJ's great on vox, does the old stuff brilliantly. Still gets the crowds amped up! Only seen KSE when they were on their last Aus tour, and was a great show! Oh, and is Behind Crimson Eyes on the tour or not? Not confirmed but have been added to the bill?

i dunno about BCE but i saw them at iron maiden, crowd didnt like them much obviously but they put on an alright show, especially with the pretty cold reception the crowd gave them(not abusive or anything, just not very happy to have them on)
i just cant wait to see incubus, ive been waiting so many years to see them same with bleeding through and MSI. ive see most of the others before except offspring and alexis

i am so dissapointed in the sydney gig.. the layout was absolute rubbish. they ruined my whole day, i missed about 5 bands i really wanted to see.. anyone else who went to sydney have a problem.. it took about 2 hours to get through the front gates, by that time it was 2:15, were hurling bottles up the front of the crowd, a girl infront of me got slammed in the side of the head by a red bull bottle then hit my girlfriend.
I'm just glad they had secco's with sunscreen, it wouldnt have been worth getting sunburnt for.. highlights for me though were Scary Kids Scaring Kids, MSI, alexisonfire, Killswitch Engage and Incubus.. out of the whole line up thats about all i got to see.. Last year was so much better, although most of the problem was due to an incredibly bad layout. too many stages - too far away from each other with bottlenecks in every pathway. They didnt even give out maps or time tables!! last year it was prime, 3 stages all visible on 1 field, wide open spaces to walk to either stage 1&2 or stage 3. within 5 mins walking distance if that..

yes same ,it was crap ,only reason i stayed was to see incubus ,took way to long to get in the door ,stupid setup ,there was a que for everything ,they ran out of drinks .
they had some cheap fence that collapst and the security were trying to hold it closed so no one could get hurt.then a girl got hurt and got karted away . and then there was a security guard that was trying to tell a girl off to get off her b/f's shoulders .to which she didnt listen so he proceeded to throw water bottles at her head to try and make her get down . it wasnt untill some smart threw a full water bottle at his head ,then he decided to actually get off his and go into the crowd to tell her to get down . there was no maps ,no numbers on stages so you could tell which one was which ,it was just hopeless . all so we waited over an hr for chicken satay sticks which we pay like $50 for only to have them skip from order number 35 to like 65 and then to 90 ,so not only did we no get our food we didnt get our money back .and good luck to even try and get up the front to ask for it back . i gave up ,i watched incubus found my friend and we left .did the 2 hr train trip home . only 2 highlights of the whole day .incubus and the free bus to central station . i will never go to another sound wave again . jb.

i will probably go to next years but i will check out the map first and decide if its gonna be crap or not..
incubus wernt even that good, they fcked around on their 2nd last song for so long they didnt have enough time for some other old favourites like certain shade of green or pardon me! so all in all i want my money back..

Soundwave was the messiest, most disorganised, unsafe event I have ever seen. The pathways were tiny and packed, and they put the friggin water station taps thingo right in the middle of a walkway which turned the main thoroughfare to mud.
Seriously - Sydney Park is huge. Why the hell were people packed in so tight? Police and St John Ambulance were trying to get through the crowd in their golf buggy thingos and just getting jammed and going nowhere. I sincerely hope that the organiser gets a flogging. Regardless - Soundwave will not have my patronage in future. Worst event of the year from an organisation perspective. Hands down.
