Gday all
as the title says i quit my job today it has been a long time coming i have been working my a55 of for the last 6 months attempting to keep the place afloat (farming industry ) the problem that i have is that i work 10 hours a day with no reward no extra pay or the likes the real reason that i am leaving is that there is one guy there that takes 3 weeks to build a machine that i could get a 1st yr apprentice to do in 1 week i am lucky that i have a job to go to that will pay me better as well as regular fishing trips that the boss pays for ( these happen on a very reg basis ) : was i stupid or was it a good thing to do jason

I look at it as a life balance. 8 hours asleep, 8 hours at home and 8 hours at work - upset any of those and the other two are upset. Don't like fishin' but sure do enjoy time to myself...

If it means more fishing it must be a good thing.

From what you have said it's a no brainer. Free fishing trips is just the icing on the cake.
Just out of curiosity, what was your previous job and what will you be doing now? Cheers and all the best. |

For the most part work in an industry is much the same wherever you go in that industry, the real difference is who you work with.
Sounds like a winner to me. |

Sounds like a good choice to me.
I just quit my job on Monday, after 1 week back at work. I've been sick of the place for ages and I've decided to study this year.

My last day at Woolworths is Friday. After 7 years I'm finally going to be rid of the place, and I already feel so much happier.

Grimus, congratulations mate... no use being stuck in a job which you hate. Look at it as a new start.

sounds like a very good move
just remember every job has its ups and downs, i know i could mame some people even before the shop opens, but i love going there, because pay is fantastic, hours are whenever i can, boss loves me, free drinks, usually some training thing on once a week, free drinks and food again, almost every friday or sat we go out for more free drinks (well i do, everyone else shouts LOL) enjoy the new job, and especially enjoy those fishing trips
