Default ORSMXT Steering Shudder/Vibration?

Hello ORSM Ford Cruisers,

I just discovered a rapid steering vibration at low speeds. just as you turn the wheel left or right lock to lock.

ive got King Springs Just Lows and 20"x8.5" Wheels.

I checked the power steering fluid (not that I would let in run dry), watched the supension as my dad turned the wheel, watched the steering rack as he turned the wheel.

and i got nothing

im stumped

hopeing that some ORSM brains would be able to help me.

Thank You in advance

Cheerz,

P.S. I have posted this in the contempory falcons thread

Hi Matt, You could also check front hubs as they can go at anytime. Have you checked your rims a lead weight may have fallen off and this can cause vibration whilst driving. Cheers Tony

Go and get a balance on the rims.

Failing that it could be brake shudder in the front rotors.

Are they still the factory rotors?

The factory rotors are renowned for warping. If this is the case, rip them of and put some DBA slotteds in.

is all good

my mate has a BA on 20"s and he has the same problem. it happens after it goes on a hoist. just air in the hoses.

I woulda loved the rotors to be warped. i had some slotted rotrs lined up

Thanks for the help guys

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the sway bar links. Only found out after changing the sway bar and heard a knocking sound too. I also had a mate with 20's and he found that the wheels were the problem. They caused uneven wear on the inside of the tyres with which he found to be the cause of the shudder.

All it was is that i had a build up of air in my p/s hoses. something about putting it on the hoist and air gets in or sumfin

I may look into getting bf p/s hoses, that solves the problem.
