Default Dreaded clutch cable

Well I'm most annoyed. Got home tonight an the clutch cable tore a hole in the firewall *sighs*

This means I wont be able to come on Sunday's cruise. If anyone has advice or solutions it'd be appreciated

Cheers

You will need to get a plate made up to bolt (or tek screw) into place over where the factory cable goes. There is a template on Fordmods for it.

I've just done it with my XG ute.

Sorry to hear Thanks for the info , found the thread and I'll make up the plate tomorrow and try and get a new cable (90% of the cause I'm sure). If I can get the cable tomorrow I might be up for the cruise yet

Well as you probably noticed I didn't get to make it for the cruise

So close yet so far. Unfortunately I had to re-design bits from the tutorial which just took up a heap of time. Along with part hunting (ie clutch cable, steel, etc) and to top things off the pin broke off the clutch pedal as well when it was nearly ready

The reinforcing plate I made goes on this arvo and the car will be back on the road again. Have a few pictures if anyone is interested. (Would recommend this fix before a firewall tears for sure)

Sorry to hear mate. But at least once you fix it with the plate, it will be fixed permanently.
