Current Employer
2 months

Previous Employer
5.5 years

Previous Previous Employers (had 2-3 jobs all going at the same time)
1 year, 2.5 years and 3 years each (all during that 5.5 years at the previous employer too + uni) glutton for punishment lol

Current Employer: 2 years and seven months
Previous Employer: 11 months

Only had two jobs. I read a report a while back that says people normally change every few years, so it'd be interesting to see some figures around here.

kermey,
Reason for the question ???
Just a tail spin of the thread regarding casual Vs fulltime
Many were swaying towards full time and its benefits
Just thought i see what people are actually working with employers before moving on
Hence this question

I am on my 6th different employer in the last 12 months. That is the nature of the type of work I do, mostly shutdown type stuff, so you have to follow the work!

Self employed for the last 3 years.

Previous employer was 2 years

Before that was a 3 month contract.

Just counted up all my different employers. 17 and 2 of them were for 11 years. I like new things

Cheers

Current Employer 5 months, permanent.

Previous to that, temp work off and on for multiple agencies in multiple offices for about 5 years.

Previous to that, 2 years permanent.

Previous to that, about 1.5yrs temping.

Previous to that, about 1.5 years permanent.

Previous to that, a few months temping.

Previous to that, 12 months permanent (traineeship so was always going to end).

As you can see, permanent doesn't always mean, well, permanent!

Current (full time) - just ticked over 8 years a few months ago. First full time job but I didnt go full time until about 4 years ago.

Previous (casual) - 1.5 years worked in tandam with current job while it was still casual as well.

I work two jobs, my fulltime one I have just ticked over 3 years with the current one, and my casual one I am just about to come up on 4 years.

If working for yourself counts I'm almost ready to start the clock on that one too.
