Hey guys i MAY have cooked my motor today at an autokhana.....MAY have im soon to find out. I am considering now ripping it out and dropping a CA18DET in, should make for a much faster ride. The reason im choosing the CA over the SR20DET is because i may as well save a little money over the sr20 because with either motor it should belt nicely. No need for overkill just yet.
I need to do as much research as i can now for a CA18DET transplant into a mk2 escort 2 door (it has a 2L pinto with a sierra 5 speed atm). So any links to websites, books, people that have done it before.....whatever please pass them on to me and i can keep you all updated with the build progress if it goes ahead. Cheers, Sam M. |

Hey,
This site maybe useful http://spannerfodder.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1069 You can also look up a website called: Nissan SR20 Transplants. Become a member and direct your questions to the forum. They have a wealth of info on SR20 & CA18 swaps. You might find photos of a scort or two with either SR20 or CA18. Get in touch with your engineer, he will tell you whats needed. There will be alot of custom work involved which means big $$$$ Well worth it in the end. Hpoe this helps. Cheers Aussie_Escort |
