Hey guys,
Anyone got links to pictures of Falcon Job 1's from over the years? I know a few have floated around, there was one of BA Job 1 on here about 8 years ago now, Narooma Blue XT with Geoff Polites and co standing in front of it. If not, anyone got decent pictures of the inside of the plant, pictures of car production, all that kind of stuff? None of that myford spec stuff. Cheers. |

WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Great photos. Love seeing the XR and MK 1 Cortina on the same production line. I think the XA,B,C Landau Coupes didn't get the treatment as in the last few photos though. |

What exactly is that treatment? some sort of anti rust but what exactly?
Pretty sure the early stangs in the US didn't get this treatment, cause everyone's complaining at how silly the Ford engineers were to spotweld the upper and lower cowl together without any treatment in between... These are great pictures...

Now, I am talking ONLY of the AUIII, I seriously belive that the AUIII Ford finally refined to a point where they looked quite good in all forms bar the Fairmonts, where BA XT Futura Fairmont's looked big boring and rounded. and definitely less modern (save for the Interior). The BA XR's were a different story, they always looked good. How funny is hindsight? Many Lament that the BA is what the AU should have been, where I reckon had Ford bought out the AUIII line instead of AU1, Ford Oz's fortunes would have been much different. However, it could be pondered upon that we probabably would never had the BA BF FG (arguably maybe not even the turbo's), if the AU had succeeded. Sorry for the OTT'ness.... |

beauty is in the eye of the "beer holder" my friend.
we all see the world through our own custom tainted glasses. We may as well argue whether chocolate ice cream tastes nicer than vanilla. But there's one thing that united us all! "Toyota's are boring!" hehehe

after seeing those old pics of the factory, i have to say that it still looks close to the same way as it did 40 years ago except for safety enhancements and the old piant shop has been decommisioned for many years now i think since the xf's release.
