My EL has started to make a groaning / creaking noise from the front end. I've had a ball joint replaced, which didn't fix the issue, and have had the car checked at pedders who say everything seems normal. It only happens when going over speed humps or undulating road surfaces and can be heard and felt inside the car at 110. What could it be as it is slowly driving me crazy.

does it sound like a suspension problem? from what you have described it almost sounds chassis or k-frame related. If a normally fixed part is overstressed (bumps, undulating roads, etc) it could be stressing and allowing other parts to move against each other.

lubricate with wd 40 or something all your cross member to chassis studs just buy spraying them from under the car round the nut, tighten them all using a long breaker bar, not a rattle gun! drop down the sway bar with rubber grease, grease up your front swaybar 'D' rubbers and your swaybar link rubbers, replace if choped out...
lubricate and tighten your 4 a side upper control arm nuts found in engine bay on the side of the wheel arch, slightly under each manifold. lubricate each spring seat top and bottom.
