i'd have to agree with that the holden commercials are much more entertaining. Ford should really step it up most of their commercials are out dated and boring.

Sad that advertising actually has an impact, instaed of education or self study of the facts. It's like swinging voters, influenced by tabliods or adds to pick a party to run the country.
If an add influences your choice then suffer the consiquences, if you can actually realise that there is any!

PS Not you guys...

i see about the dogs it does make sence now that i know of the other commercial...but still they should really show off the fpv range going around the track or something or atleast have close ups and text on the screen talking about them maybe talking them up ....but i guess fpv are alright with the sales so it may not apply with them but mabey try it with the xr8 and 6t

Yeah, its about time that Ford comes out with a catchy ad for the Falcon. Needs to be something thats amusing or humourous, and also shows that the BF isn't that dated compared to the VE. Change the ad agency?

Yep, holden make better commercials. Ford make better cars. I have never driven a commercial, but I reckon it can't be better than a ford. :

hehe that XR6 magnet ad with the chicks was ACE!, i have to admit the dog one is better than the terry turbo (as if it would eat a ferrari!!!) << false advertising..lol

if FPV are happy with their figures then theres no need to advertise though occasionally i see the ad for the typhoon at charmichael ford (one with the trees blowing which was taken from the video of an atomic bomb going off)

ford service and marketing suck, they need something like boss 290 said take a few of the past and present cars around a track and show how the falcon has made history or something, or get a few model T's (revive some peoples memories) with a few of the rare/never seen models with the current ones...do something cool

(ill send my assignment to them....that'll show them for discontuing the AU)

I don't let a commercial influence me.
A commercial gives nothing.

To make a full informed decision in purchasing a vehicle, you need to research external of the car yards.

Heh, took the attached photo at The War Memorial in Canberra last Tuesday.

Holden not only has better ads, they've always been "the" Australian car.
Not a Ford adv anywhere in sight at the War Mem....

Money couldn't buy that space...

to be perfectly honest the ford adverstising as a whole may be slightly lacking, but i think the latest commodore ad is very average, i don't find it at all appealing. Thats just my opinion though.

To respond to you Longreach, very few car commercials interest me.
I like the older ones from the 70s and 80s.

I don't think people buy cars based on what they see at the war memorial.

But Fords ads are much worse in the falcon vs commadore range. The Viiva ads on the otherhand are aweful

Of course not but it does reinforce the Holden brand and it place in Australia's history.

It's not some weird coincidence that the Holden poster is there, lol.

But keep in mind...almost everything that was once "Australia's Own" is now somebody elses. Vegemite, Arnott's, Heinz, Ugg Boot etc (although the Ugg was stolen by the Americans!).

I still think Fords are lean, hairless amazons while too many Commodores have been large hairy hags.

It's a mentality.

Yep owned! Would be interesting (therefore entertaining) what a similar marketing campaign between Ford and Holden could bring up.

On the big screens at the V8 supercar rounds, they have really good Falcon and FPV adds. The adds really stick it up the Holdens. Can anyone remember the high rise carpark add with the boom gate? I never see these adds on TV.

Agreed Holden do make more catchy ad's.
The best ad's from Ford for the Falcon of recent years imo, was the stuck in 3rd AU ad, and the BA XR6t? ad, with Slow Jam - New Order playing, and the BA SR ad's with Ambrose/Lowndes and or Ingal.
But they are years old, Holden make a catchy ad every year, but they use songs i have liked, but now i hear the song and it reminds me of their ad :( , but i guess that shows its good advertising ????? with stuff like Take Me Away - Lash, and the ACDC songs, and of late Ready to go - Republica

The latest VE Commodore ad is nice, but what gets me is that we only have one ad. I appreciate it was an expensive one, but how about some cheaper ones that cover the range/features etc.

The way car companies only do the one ad and then show it over and over, drives me nuts. The possible exception to this is the BMW 3 series ad, where the car morphs from one generation to the next. I like the look of a lot of those cars, but not the latest one.

BTW does anyone know if the first car they show is a 2002?
