Ahoy there.
Driving Speed II is a new driving game that has some Aussie classics, including XB/XC Falcons, Toranas, and some VR/S GTSs. It's free and graphics aren't bad. Despite what it says, some reports have said that physics aren't the most realistic, but meh...about time we got a driving game dedicated to Australian cars, including the classics. Cheers

Played alright... Gave it a shot just then.
Just a couple of little bugs I thought I'd bring to your attention. There was a Torana half in the wall with 2 other commodores stacked up behind it doing burnouts and another car that was half into the ground. Also on this lap in the 2nd picture you'll notice in the background a car was doing laps on it's roof with sparks going everywhere!! (looked pretty cool : ) Sorry for the crap res. The Forums attachment scheme made me resize it from 1920x1200 to 1600x1000 and downgrade the image quality severely too to fit it in the kb limit but it looks a lot better in-game. I really like the X-Series Cobra. Any chance of adding things like the ELGT, XY GT's or even maybe some modern muscle like the B-Series GT? Last edited by 5.4 GT; 19-04-2008 at 03:47 PM. |

Hey sweet, I've always loved the XB for some reason, and it's great to see a racing game with it already modelled in it! Downloading now, thanks uranium

Wow, a game with Australian cars in it for once. Thats a first, last games i saw with any Aussie cars was NFS HP2 with the TS50 and a Monaro, then GT3 with a AU XR8 from the V8 Supercars.

I've currently got the 153rd fastest Bathurst lap out of more than 3000 registered scores - under my gaming nickname - Hooligan. Pity I did it in a Torana. I have no idea how someone did a 1:23 at Bathurst - that's an average speed of about 240km/h - it does 260km/h flat out
Did 2:22.55 in the XB GT, puts me 298th ATM XBGT - Adelaide 1:29.18 500th out of 6000+

There have been a few games with Aussie cars...there was one game which had an XB and some Holden...probably a Monaro, but it was among other American cars.
Hot Pursuit I had the AU and VT as Police Cars. There have been a few games...problem is that Australia's gaming market is non-existent compared to China and the US, so to make a game with Australian cars is not likely to ever happen on a mass-production level. I reckon adding every Falcon would be good...likewise with the Commodores...a bit like NFS Porsche. NFS Porsche was awesome...start with ye olde Porsches and as you win races and such, you go through history and get newer cars as you go along, and can keep your older cars. They go up in value too. That's just a dream though...

have to agree.great game for free. currently the best time i got for the adelaide street circuit is 1:24.61 in a A9X TORANA ( SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!) that puts me in 181 position ,name:player1scott. think i can improve on that time by maybe 1 to 2seconds by trying to reduce the wheel spin out of the corners. have a go and let us know what time you get.
