Looks good, like a factory job ... Except the tailights, not a fan.

There was a pair for sale on eBay last year. A yellow and light blue one. Liked the yellow one but it was more than the blue one. Wonder if this is from the same pair?

If you were going to buy this - would you consider painting it white / blue stripes and making a BA / BF Cobra coupe?
Thats the first thing I thought of when I saw it...............

Anyone can modify something to the max with body kits and crap hanging off it everywhere in a big attempt to make it stand out like a sore thumb...true talent is modifying something like that yellow BA in such a way that people have to look twice and even then they are so unsure that they have to ask "Did the factory do it like that?".

But that's just the point. You shouldn't have to look twice to figure out it's a coupe, it should look that good and unique that it would stand out as a coupe first time you look at it, the Monaro did that.
To me it looks like a sedan with welded rear door and longer front door. |

Ain't nothing like a Monaro
The only similarity between the Monaro and the Commodore of the same year are the guards, bonnet, mirrors, bumper and grill which is exactly like the X series ford coupes and their counter part sedans This BA, all be it a great job is a sedan with modified doors and door glass |

At first glance I thought "Sedan". Think of XC Sedan and XC Coupe. Might be the same at the front but thats about it..............

Like I said great job but coupes traditionally have a lower roof line and sweeping qtr panels Would be a cool car to own if the price was right |

the Monaro was 50mm lower and 100mm shorted, this meant significant changes to the structure behind the firewall, including re-profiled A, B and C pillars.
Hillier conversions job on the AU was almost spot-on, could have used a shorter boot...

great effort, but like the monaro it does nothing for me
these guys were limited with what they could do, but the side of a coupe should look like a coupe from 200 metres. there should be no 2nd looks, it should be 100% obvious |

Problem with converting sedans to coupes is the boot is too long, it doesn't work out most times cause of this.

This car drove past me on it's way out of the Ford Day a few weeks ago and I didn't pick it as a coupe until my friend pointed it out.

Not to pick on the hardtop (which given their age & rarity, are now classics in their own right) but a prime example nonetheless. Not to mention the sales figures for these were woeful in their day, not being a little undermined by the Charger of course. Similarly I thought Holden should have buried the Monaro coupe come HQ time, as they looked ungainly in comparison to the preceding HK-T-Gs. And for that matter, the CV Monaro just looks like an even fatter Commodore. Back to the BAs, it looks more like a 2-door sedan (remember them??) rather than a coupe proper. |

I asked about these from the place who did them last year. He wanted 75k for the yellow and sure it was 50k for the blue one.

Kinda sad that they never sold any and only built the two prototypes. Lot of money and effort down the drain.
