Default An open message for Channel 10

Once again we are facing a delayed start to another delayed telecast of an F1 tace thanks to the continued inability of Channel 10 to actually run anything on time.

So here are 3 suggestions that are clean enough to post:

1. Buy a very BIG clock for each of the production studios.

2. Save us all a lot of grief and just roll all the bloody useless reality shows into one. It's simple - just place a large group of overweight would be singers and dancers into a house with a few celebrities thrown in for good measure (actually get Rove McMoron to host it), put the house in a bad neighbourhood so you can get some reality police action out the front and perhaps invite the garden gang in for a weekly remodelling as well. Put it on between 0200 and 0900 each day and then no one will have to worry about it.

3. If any of the above shows run overtime just kill them at the scheduled finish. No one is going to miss the extra 10 minutes of umitigated crap anyway and if they do you can webcast it instead.

Regards
Russ

here here!!!

you know, i wouldn't even mind as much if they showed the race LIVE on the HD channel, but delayed on the normal ones, but no, they just show the same crap at the same time on both normal and HD channels....

ugh!!!

yes why cant they take advantage of digital TV and get more viewers by showing the F1 live. They have the IPL on atm but why not the F1 also?

Channel 7 needs to pull their fingers out too, the last round of V8's I didnt even know was on till I read about it on here after the race! Perhaps they should award the coverage to whoever doesnt televise the footy?

Scary thing is, Big Brother is back VERY soon. That show always runs over.

On a side note, feel for those of us who can only get WIN (channels 9 and 10 combined : ).
Fortunately tonight we got the F1 on the same time as 10. But there have been times when it won't be on till after 1am.

I have a nearly identical post in the thread about the I.P.L

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...1217531&page=2

I suggest everyone write to admin@formula1.com and complain to them rather than the TEN network that does not listen to the veiwer. At least the F1 Admin can repremand or pull the contract to another network.

I'll third that.

They have no problem cutting the cricket etc short, even when its really good, to go to something like whats running late now, but they wont do it the other way around.

WIN here (country NSW) is Ch 9. Ch 10 is a seperate entity.

I doubt that it would do any good, F1 Admin would go with the highest payers.

The problem is Channel 10 is aimed mainly at young teen girls. Just look at the shows.

Neighbours, Big Brother, So you think you can dance, Australian Idol etc

Hopefully 10 use HD to its potential. They've been putting the Nascar and other things on it lately.

Until we see the Australian television ratings system metering digital broadcasting then the priority for the networks to put programs like F1 on their digital service is low. Once the system is in place and providing the F1 contract does not stipulate broadcasting on its primary channel only we should see it on digital as the business case is very strong for it, especially when they take advantage of non competing demographic splits.

And the race just finished live... been following the live timing on www.f1.com

Doesnt seem that hard to put the coverage on 45-60mins or so earlier to have it live

WIN in country WA is Channel 10 and Channel 9 combined. So I actually have a television station that runs 8 hours of reality TV a day.

Needless to say I'm huge fan of SBS, even the Russian news is more exciting than reality TV.

Also has Rove ever finished in his alloted hour, somebody should either tell him to plan for less or have the brains to schedule 90 minutes

I hate how 10 and now 7 always delay the coverage of V8's :(

like the last round on saturday. race 1 was on late in the arvo and it was night time in NZ. can't remember what they had on before hand but i know it wasn't worth watching.

Come on ch7 show it live or give to another channel that will.

I use a program called TVU Player.

Live F1 *without* the annoying ITV (british) commentary.

Yep :(

I think when this time comes around, Channel 10 becomes Channel Big Bogan. They wipe their schedule so they can fit 6-7 hours of the crap into each day. This does not include their updates every single ad break, where they put a heap of the tools up onto the screen, asking people to call up or sms to vote them out. Can't I just save them a lot of trouble, and vote them all out? Surely 6 hours of an empty house is about as exciting as 6 hours of bogans laying about in a house. Obviously the people that Channel 10 choose for the show, are from the bottom of the gene pool. I've seen more intelligent people working at centrelink, and my experience in this regard has been shocking at best. The sad thing is when the season ends, half the members end up on a spin-off that will fill the numerous Big Bogan time slots. Well, that's enough ranting for one day. Gee, I can't wait till it disappears off our screens.

At least they still telecast F1, MotoGP and WSB fans have been forced to Foxtel if they want to view the sport. :

I imagine it's only a matter of time before F1 follows, motorsport fans in Australia are treated as second rate by the media as a whole compared to football & cricket.

I honestly don't see the attraction of watching 15 overweight people whinge and at each other either. And as for Big Brother, that show makes me want to kill myself.
