Default XR8 TriY vs 4-1

I have an 05 BAII XR8 ute that I mainly use for highway but enjoy the car around town also. Currently I have a y/t cai, cappa power pipe and ss tb but plan on tune and a full exhaust in the near future but bit confused on which headers to get. As the car is a 4 speed she suffers badly down low and would love that to improve but once she is around 3k she happily comes to life.

I have read that the triY are better for bottom end power and the 4-1 are better for top end and over all power figures. I thought that was the case until I got some feed back from another forum member that says he thinks the triY's have actually hurt the boss in some cases and robbed them of power. I don't do any track days, dyno days or drags just daily driving and highway driving with the regular boot to the floor to hear the boss.

Any info on this subject would be great. Thanks

The try y's are about as good as factory headers. Even at part throttle and low range, any 4:1 header is better than a try Y.

I wouldn't use a try Y header if it was given to me.
