Default Which Made XA-XC Hardtops more Popular?

The 1977 1-2 Bathurst win; or Mad Max 1/2?

For me Mad Max.
On behalf of my youngest nephew its the race win. He's got the 1-2 and a Mad Max car for his scalextic, the race cars are by far his favourite. As long as he's driving the 1 car, I've told him about the legendary finish, doesn't really matter though, he still beats me everytime. Maybe I should find an RS2000 and just follow behind him, just in shot.

It depends on how you look at it.

* The XA Hardtop has that Myth and Legend about them. Using some of the GTHO Phase 4 parts in the GT RPO 83. (And two wins back to back at Bathurst 73 and 74).

* The XB Hardtop has that Tough Muscle Car look. Cult Following with the Mad Max Interceptor. Moffat's GT (Project XB 52) Race Car, with the Brut 33 Paint job.

* The XC Hardtop has the Cobra. The Moffat Dealer Team. And that Legendary Bathurst 1-2 Victory.

For me. I love them all. From XA to XC. The Toughest Race Car was the XB GT.

I couldn't decide which for I admire them both.
Grew up with them on the streets and race tracks - huge beast's back then, the old man had a XA coupe and I remember reversing was a right royal PIA for that back end, for starters the slant on the that back window was woeful to judge - certainly taught you how to drive properly without sense's/cameras lol....
Good brief summary Blue Roo.

I think the Cobra was 1978, that was a bit of a fizzer.

The Moffat/Bond 1-2 was 1977, which were entered officially as XC Falcon (500) GS Hardtops, but were really converted XB GTs.

Probably not their early history of the dual exhaust ones catching fire and trapping people in the back seat leading to the 1975 recall. https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/a...&searchLimits= I seem to recall there were some fatalities in WA involving children but I may have imagined that; anyone else recall anything?

Watched the race, watched the movie back in the day parked outside the local drive in fence with the local coppers in their XD parked right behind us, but it was Todd in his candy apple red hardtop passing me like I was standing still that caused the "gotta get me one of those".
