Default almost left the AU brotherhood

well as the title says the time had come for me to think about getting rid of the old xr6. Although it had done me well I was getting a little tired of it. My father inlaw was going to sell me his xr6 turbo that had some work done to it and was getting close to 300kw for a very reasonable price.
About a week ago I was driving through Fyshwick when I saw this beautiful beast parked on the side of the road at a car yard. Just for some kicks I got out and had a quick look at it. I've always loved these cars. They are the ultimate Ford car in my eyes. When I saw that it was going for 24k I jumped at the chance. After taking her for a test drive I was hooked. Although it doesn't have the punch that my father inlaws turbo has it was just pure heaven. And I know that with a little bit of work she will be keeping up with the turbo pretty easy. The only drawback was that I was having trouble finding insurance as im under 25(by a couple of months). I decided to give Swann insurance a call and they insured me for $860 so there was nothing left to do but buy it.
all I wanna do now is sit in my car and never get out. I LOVE IT

yeah I know. the underpan was the first thing that I noticed aswell. after having a auto for so long I had to get back in a manual and I'm glad I did. its got 140k on it which is probably why it was so cheap but is in mint condition

still a great pick up for a manual

lucky to get a manual with low kays for under 30, most of the cheap ones are auto

If this was a trade in at the yard imagine what the seller got rid of it for!!! Not much over 20k if they were selling it for 24k.

My dream car....Well done.

with a total of 186 manuals vs 242 auto's... makes any manual t3 kinda rare...

Carrat - well done! I'm sure I saw your silver car just the other day in our suburb. Did you trade it in, or are you going to sell it privately? If traded, what sort of price did you get? Can't believe you got a T3 for $24k. Excellent bargain!

I still owed 11k on the xr6 so they offered to pay the remaining amount which I was stolked with. I wasn't expecting anything more than 8k from a car yard.

It was a car yard in Fyshwick, ACT. The previous owner lived in Queanbeyan which is NSW but about 10min away from the car yard if that makes sense

I gotta get out to fyshwick more. Well, I'm out there a bit, but I gotta stay out of the porno shops and look at the car yards.

Great buy.

just wanting to ask the experts a question.
I'll be needing to change the spark plugs and leads on the car (hopefully this weekend) cause it feels like its misfiring(spelling). repco and supercheap dont have the plugs for the 5.6l t3 but they have them for the 5.0l te50. Are the 5.0l one able to be used or should I keep trying to track some down for the 5.6l?
cheers
