Default 20's on AU

I've just put 20's on my AU3 XR8. Thanks to GLENBA for the wheels. They scrub a little but it's going in tomorrow to get the gaurds rolled and coil overs all round.

I'll be posting up some pics tomorrow when i get it back.

id look at getting 245/30 profile rubber all around
keeps it legal .. and load rated and your front rims wont get smashed on driveways if you dont turn tightly into them

You used to be able to. I had a set of king adjustable coil overs on my AU2 Forte V8. Around 25mm worth of adjustment up and down on them - was great for lowering for track days, and raising for around town.

Well i got all wheels put on today. Didnt get the coil overs in the end they wanted 2300 for king coil overs i think i'll just go koni adjustables they should do the job instead. I took a few pics but there not real clear in the dark so i'll get some tomorrow and post them up.

For anyone thinking of doing this my car has king ultra low springs that have been reset 1 inch lower again (thats 3 1/2 inchs lower than factory) and with the gaurds rolled (cost $100 for all 4) they dont even scrub. This is with 225/35/20 on front and 245/30/20 on rear. Rears did scrub before rolling the gaurds just a little on bumps.

Sounds good.

The only comment I have is in thinking that your car is 3.5" lower than standard. In AU2/3 form the difference between Forte and XR is only 25mm to 30mm (that's standard to low). The difference between low and super low is no more than 15mm, and SSLs (also known as Ultra lows) are only another 10mm lower than that. With your springs reset another 25mm lower, that makes them a total of 50mm (2 inches) lower than your factory sports suspension on the XR, but a total of between 3 and 3.5" (roughly) than a forte. So yes, 3.5" lower is right-ish, but only when compared to a Forte, not an XR.

Yeah it is 3 1/2 inchs from a forte sorry. I make the mistake of comparing it to my other car which is a 99 forte. Front wheels just clear front guards on full lock and dont seem to scrub at all.

Sounds good, but I thing Ive notice driving with super lows is how slow you have to go over bumps with cars tailgating you!

pics pics!!!
