Default Trying to install side new mirror cover...

Just received my chrome mirror covers today and i've managed to install my passenger side cover just fine.

But I can't seem to get the drives side one on. I think it hasn't been bent enough to the shape around the mirror. So when I push the top in the bottom sticks out and vice versa... I've got it in a couple of times, however it ends up flinging back out 5 seconds later.

Any ideas?

hmm sounds odd, maybe try to bend out the clips a bit so they grab better?

Tried that a few times, just won't work. I don't understand cause my standard black one clips straight on and off so easy everytime (i've tried it a few times to see if anything was damaged when I first took them off).

Would glue around the seals be a bad idea? (Not planning on changing them again)

Tie some string around tight enough so it bends in slightly. then heat slightly with a hairdryer from the inside. Alow to cool and she should be sweet

I think I prefer the driver's side. Sorry! But glad you've done this, as I was considering these for my missus Xmas present - now I know what they look like on a dark car, I won't bother.

I like the chrome mirrors, they take away from the monotonous endless black on the side of the car. Actually gives it a distinctive look.

But each to their own. :P

There was a change in the mounting points I think on the driver's mirror ... i am pretty sure I compared my damaged driver's one ... and the replacement one i picked up .... I think the locking tabs/clips are in different locations behind the cover.

I think that's what is causing the issue.

The guy at Bayford (great place to get stuff) was awesome and sent me a replacement free. Turns out that one was just warped. It fitted straight on. Clip locations are the same Mechan1k (for future reference ).

I agree, but you need at least clear/chrome side repeaters to compliment the look.

I am getting them next, along with series 2 tail lights and some black headlights. Will come up great. Then the chrome/black intech OHC badges under them.

Plus I just got the chrome strip around the front and rear bumpers. Compliments it perfect.
