Default HSV buys 54% of Prodrive

Australian Auto Manufacturing is about to enter a new era.
Prodrive, the british engineering company behind FPV, has sold 54% of its shares to Australian based Peformance Builder HSV.
Realisitically this means that HSV now has input into the opposition.
In a statement released yesterday, HSV executives confirmed that the plan had been "on the cards" for some time, and that with the current economic climate, it was now the right time to "make a move".
Looking at the situation as it stands now, one FPV employee commented that it could end up being a "new era" for Ford Performance Vehicles.
"For once we might be able to have some good input and ideas thrown into the mix, and have a direct link to our rivals to share information and ideas" the employee said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
Ordinarily, the opposing brands have been at opposite ends of the scale for buyers who are interested in the performance car industry, but this move now means that regardless of brand, buyers will, in at least some small way, be supporting Australian Jobs.
"Our jobs mean the world to us and if being stuck with HSV means we can be a little more certain about the future, then so be it" one FPV executive was quoted as saying.
Logistical changes were expected at both manufacturers but in a statement released to media outlets today, it was made clear that no jobs were under threat.
Senior HSV executives were to tour the FPV facility today and be shown the inner workings of their new purchase by FPV boss Rod Barrett.

Too late for AFJ

But my wife has always said that Holden control the company that does the advertising for Ford.

How else could the Ford ads be so bad!

Holden don't have enough money to survive let alone buy out another company

Good, we might get some 4 piston brakes on the rear, wider tyres, and about 8.0lt of engine capacity by late 2010.

What's wrong with pushrods? My motorbike is only a two stroke, but it scares the crap out of me..... Nothing wrong with simple, proven technology.
