Default A suitible replacement for the Motorcraft Carby

Hi all,

I have an Escort 1600, I want to change carby, but still use the standard manifold that comes with the standard issued Motorcraft carby. Is there any other carby that will fit it (the manifold) and that works well? Or should I just recon the Motorcraft.

May look into a larger weber later on, but for now just want to keep things pretty simple.

What you need is a dual barrel weber and matching manifold for an Escort Ghia. They come up on ebay every now and again.
You need to change the manifold as they have a different bolt pattern. The used to be aftermarket adapter plates that you could bolt on but they weren't very efficient and you ended up just using more fuel for no extra performance.
