Default Fitting F6 interior into an ED?

Hi Guys, I have stumbled across a badly damaged f6. Everythis is toast except the interior, engine is a little damaged(some broken brackets! internals are ok..i think.
the tranny is ok..(so im told) Is it possible to fit the interior including the dash into an ed and what is required? Basically I have no idea. I have only really started getting into my fords and have the urge to make mine great. Now im Addicted!!! I'd also like to repair the engine tranny and fit it into the car(when mine gets a little tied). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Retrofitting a BA/BF interior is possible with some modifications, somebody had done this on these forums not too long ago on his EA/EB/ED. Aside from the front seats, I think it would be a pretty big job . As for the gearbox, I wouldn't know, but i'm pretty sure you'll need at least a different bellhousing and possibly a custom tailshaft.

Thanks. I Just know the guy who was unlucky enough to loose it and end for end his f6 a couple of times... It has full leather and heaps of extra stuff. Was hoping it was possible to fit it in. I have herd throughothers that it is possible.

most things are possible if you are willing to do modifications and pay the money.
you will need engineers for the engine and everything. the interior will probably need to be altered a bit due to the difference in size. but it would look awsome and worth the effort i think.
out of curiosity how much would you pay for a stuffed f6?

That is awesomely cheap!

As someone else suggested, go to the auctions, get a BA XT for under 10k and then have fun!

Hell of a lot of work though, and by the time you pay someone else to do it you might be just as well off buying a XR6 turbo.

On the topic of BA parts into Eseries. Does anybody know if a BA/F instrument cluster will fit into an E-series?

i was thinking the same. was just looking on ebay at dif parts.
it would more than likely need alterations to fit.

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye out for a while, and even fixed price cars at Pickles have been going down to about 8-9. Obviously I'm not talking about perfect cars at this price but as long as the body is straight and the kays aren't ridiculous (the ones I've seen have been reasonable) then the rest can be covered by the spares from the F6.

100% with you though on the F6, definitely sounds way too good to be true. I think FTG had an engine recently for around the 4k mark, so 5k for the whole car regardless of how badly damaged it is does sound way too cheap.

Yeah he has a revs cert(so im told).. He is a 2nd yr diesel fitter. No insurance, no money and going to court. Im hopeing its all above board... (i was told it was) Im guessing i should get a search done on it before i hand over any cash. I didnt realise they went for that much. Wasnt really interested in doing anything until i was told about this car.. To good to be true maybe?

Mate, don't waste 10 hours driving there and back. Even if it is what it is, the 5k asking price and the reluctance to provide rego is screaming out as a stolen car or some other dodginess.

Unless he will give you rego number, vin number and engine number (which you could then get someone to verify) I'd be walking right away from this one!

BA front seats will fit into an EA/D with very little modification.
For the rear you would have to get something made of your stock seat

But the modifications are quite easy.

AdamLJarvis- this is where i say "i told you so"

if he wants to hide rego and vin numbers etc, and you ring sydroads etc they will most likely tell you the vehicle is under finance...so your "5k bargain" will turn into a waste of money when debt collectors come looking for the car lol so be VERY careful...

Dude you are coming across as jealous of his bargain more than anything. You can easily get BA's for under $10k now.

Either way it's worth checking out Adam go for your life, I know I would. Take the parts you need and get rid of it quick as.

Hi, Sorry my computer had to go on a holiday! I ended up getting some pics and some imfomation on the car. It was not what is was ment to be. Just a basic xt with a **** load of mods. Which where no good to me as it was basically a right off. I ended up buying the interior. Didnt worry about anything else as there isnt much that was worth worrying about. Just go's to show you should wait to you see something before you get your hopes up. On a positive note the seats are in great nick. Now i just have to work out how to fit it all in... Cheers for all your replys.
