Quick Opinions please: Extractors JMM vs Pacey

OK, I know some people dont like JMM, but whatever, they do get results.

I am getting my exhaust done next week, but before I finalize things I have an opportunity to purchase some JMM Streetfighter extractors that have only done ~1000k's.

From what I know, extractors pretty much last until they rust so thats not my issue. But would these be equal, or better than some Pacemaker 4499's?

I have been quoted $850 (pacey's) for an entire system, installed, with $100 of that being a tip, and ~$450 for the extractors. The rest is redback.

Alot of people seem to get good results with 4499's, anyone done the same with JMM?

Also Streetfighter extractors are good from DEV1 all the way to DEV5.

Ill call the shop to make sure its ok with them, I shouldn't see why not.

ah..well then Id better fix that up if I go that direction, I can get the JMM stuff for around 300ish so as Im a povo uni student Im saving ~$150 which would be nice.

But if the JMM stuff is not as good then Im happy to pay the extra for the new paceys.

JMM all they way, mate had paceys on his AU and then changed to JMM before he got a cam put in, u could def notice the difference with the swap, JMM flow better and sound sh!t hot!

the JMM extractors are good.

the 4480's are more suited to more heavily worked motors, i gained very little from the 4480's, but i only ever had a mild cam and cat back.
i'm not sure if the 4499's would have worked better but i imagine they would have for my car.

i'd get what ever is cheapest... if you can get 2nd hand JMM extractors then go that way.

Yeah to be honest I was leaning towards JMM, but wanted to hear from others who have used them (or know others).

i would imagine it is highly debateable, running similar times as 4499 equiped cars, ie grechies running great times with 4499's...

+ i reckon the 4499's have a much nicer note with the 80's sounding a tad airy fairy

Oh also guys, I didn't think it would make a difference, but just incase, the car they are coming off is an AU on LPG, I guess its all gas by then so it shouldn't really matter?

Grr just a quick update, I went to book it in, and asked how much they were charging me for the paceys. He said $450, which is fine.

Then I told him that I would supply my own extractors, so shouldn't the qoute go down to $400. Made sense to me, but apparently he said that will be another $150 for fitment.

Which now brings me back to the original $850. How the fook does that work? The original $850 included fittment.:

Perhaps Ill go and check another place out, I did just book for next friday at Exhaust Bros, but if there going to be buggers about it then perhaps I wont.

Yep, ask around first for fitting prices. No point saving coin by getting 2nd hand extractors if the eventual fitting price ends up being the same.

Well went to another place and it was pretty much the same.

$420 for a 2.5' system with a twin chrome tip. So add the 300 for the JMM's and its only $50 cheaper. Better than nothing I guess. This other place is charging $80 to fit the extractors.

So I guess the refined question is, would you go new paceys or second hand (practically new) JMM's?

As having HM Extractors and now just putting Pacey 4499's on, im extremely impressed with the pacey's! I had the cat back prior to extractors and was happy with the note, was told to expect no difference in exhaust note with the extractors but when the paceys went on with a hi-flo cat the note was sweet! The performaznce change was quite noticeable as well, as ive had no experience with JMM products if its only $50 dollars more shurely a new product that has rave reviews is better than a second hand product with mixed reviews!

JJM are the way to go I had pacey's on my ED with dev3hl cam and it went heaps better with the JJM on.

I'd be ringing up places to ask for quotes on installing extractors only. Or just bolt them up yourself and head down with no exhaust and get them to fitr the rest.

after hearing all this about JMM and paceys being the best for I6, how much of a difference would those brands be compared to Genie extractors (which i have installed)?

i have a custom set from exhaust bros and i cant be happier

i have to say that i got them a fair bit cheaper than what you have been quoted but thats probably that i cut all their flanges and stuff

Not really. It'll be quite loud, and if you think you can make it to the exhaust joint without being pulled over then go for your life, but it wont harm your car.

go the JMM extracters, fit them yourself and head to an exhaust place.

I used to have HM Headers, now I have the Streetfighter extractors in my car. I'd definately recommend you go for the JMM one!

Did you do a 14.6 with them? Because the cam is the next thing to go in, a 1636 most likely. Our cars would be pretty much the same other than mine being auto and weighing a bit more. Id be happy with a flat 15

Yep sure did, last friday ;) They're good extractors no doubt, much better than the HM crap i had before.

i have JMM Race Series. very happy with them. lot more clearance to the shock tower than paceys (had them on my EA).
