Yep cranks just fine, just no engine action at all, not even a sputter.

Yep fuel gauge is still working, another question, is the fuel pump internal? as that's a way bigger job :

Yes, check the relay first. My relay was "sticking" so it would randomly have issues when starting. Once it took me 40 minutes to start the damn car.

My mechanic was honest with me & said it turned out to be my relay, after I'd said I wanted a new fuel pump fitted. Saved me $$$!

Relay: $20 2nd hand
Pump: $250ish

Take off the cover to the fuel pump in the boot and give the pump a few taps with something solid while someone else repeatedly turns the key from off to on. Usually a failing pump will start running occasionally.

Have any of you guys heard of logic? And why do not some experts check these posts.
Check for spark at the plugs. Check for power to the pump. Check for petrol, maybe disconnect he fuel line and when the ignition is switched on, AND THERE IS POWER TO THE PUMP, some fuel is pumped into a container. The power relay can be manually closed to run the pump. Make sure the fuel line is secure when reconnecting, maybe cut off the end.
Better to check fuel pressure.
Could be something completely different like the idle control. Or the computer.

Mate the 'experts' probably have better things to do. And yes logic suggests that when the guy says he doesnt hear the fuel pump running when the key is turned to on that he should be looking at that first and not checking for spark. None of us can claim to be experts here, some of us think we are but most are just learning. So perhaps leave the 'oh ffs' attitude off here ;)

Check for spark at plugs
If no spark check the crank angle sensor
I had same problem couple years back on a NF Fairlaine
The bad news is it turned out to be the ECU in the passenger
kick panel
The car just stopped as i was pulling away from a set of lights
Never went again till i got ECU repaired

I would check the relay as it is a
common prob with fords, once the
relay goes u have no hope to
start it.
