I f you want to convert a car for gas you will be looking around the $800 mark i think. I also think you can leave the head as it is but you need to run the gas slightly rich to prevent burning out your valves.

Depends on what kinda LPG system you want to go for....
Standard system like the Tickford one (impco 220 mixer and impco model L converter IIRC) would set you back like $1500-$1600 new installed & plated from a LPG place. if you want to go performance you could go Gas Research Australia like many members have, but Im not sure exactly on the price, guess $2000 upwards? For info on a good place, check out the LPG forums here on FFAU, there is a list of recommended LPG fitters and servicers Hope I was some help

I did the conversion in my old EA myself, besides getting the tank and brand new lines installed by professional fitter. It ended up costing me around $400, but it would have been $120 less if I didn't have to buy a new tank after losing a part from another I had.
I used ED factory Tickford stuff, which is a EB-2 converter (big mofo, good with mods as well) and a 225 mixer. Was about $100 at Pick-a-Part. The FCV's on the converter were wired up to a IMPCO Commander unit (like a ECU) which cost $12 from Pick-a-Part. Worked very well even though it was never professionally tuned! Sundeep |
