Default What extractors do you run?

Hey guys,
Well since Ive just brought a cam (Crow 2222519), I was wondering what extractors I should get to suit it? Ive heard some interesting things from different people in the industry, some say extractors do stuff all, other say they are almost a must if you change the cam.

So what should I be looking at? JMM, pacey's or something else.

Also, its a long shot, but does anyone have any dyno/track proof that by doing just the extractors there is a genuine benefit?

Cheers guys!

I dont think they do much on there own (maybe around 5rwkw depending on the engine), but they help the engine breath which means other mods, such as cams, work a lot better. They do work though, and sooner or later you are going to need to want them if you keep modifying the engine.

JMM and pacies are both good

lol sounds good, how much are they charging you to put the cam in? or are you doing it yourself, I dont know if I cbf to be honest. My car needs a service so im doing to get it dyno'd before I do the mods to see how it is.

For $200 I think its not a bad deal (service and dyno).

That is a pretty good price. I'm paying $150 to get the cam in over in Dandenong coz the places up my way want at least $250. If you do end up looking at pacies the guy that sells them on ebay is real good and cheap. He even stands behind the warranty!

The prices online are ok, nothing special. PH4480's are going for $430 iirc, it will cost you close to $100 to have them fitted. try goin down to your local exhaust shop, if you cant get PH4480's installed for under $480, shop elsewere.

oh I have PH4480's.

Genies.... dont know what model but they 6>2>1 with really long secondaries that end around the gearbox, some people dont like genies but i think theyre pretty good and i definetly noticed mid-top gains!

Is it beneficial to get extractors coated? And what kinda price are we looking at?

I'll have some pacey 4480's by the end of the year :P
