Yes 53 is definitely too young.
I saw her and the band several times and every time she delivered with style grace class and raw power. Rest in Peace, you will be missed by many. |

So sad, we started following Chrissie's plight after my wife was diagnosed with MS a few years ago.
our deepest sympathies are now with her family members and friends |

Terrible news, way to young....
Chrissy and the band where a fixture in our lives in the 80's and early 90's, one of those bands that you can relate certain songs of theirs to a certain period in your life......we never missed a chance to go and see them.... R.I.P. Chrissy.....you will always be remembered as a class act.....

i was fortunate enough to meet chrissy. i walked into a conveniance store years ago when she lived in the area (kilcoy qld). i immediately noticed the flame red hair on the lady standing next to me,then i heard the voice. "thats chrissy amphlett!" i said to myself, had to act fast obviously so i blurted out-" um hello chrissy, big fan,ive grown up listening to you guys, seen you live, love your music"- i was half expecting only a "thanks" but she was so nice and polite -' thank you very much, whats your name? (i told her) she shook my hand!! asked me what my fave song was -boys in town- said she loved making that video, still had the glow mic as she called it,said it was very nice to meet me" and went on her way.. i was speechless! i literally went weak at the knees! when i went back out to the car i started to tell my 2 mates in the car with me and they said " yeah we saw her walk out, thought it was her!" copped a few jealous remarks from them but anyway.
and now shes gone.. R.I.P chrissy a quote from the 80's-"girls want to be like her, boys want to be with her" |

As I type this I am listening to her track "sleeping beauty". Highly appropriate now I think.

Have the words of "it's a fine line between pleasure and pain" in your mind as you think of this. Chrissy was not only fighting Breast Cancer but two years ago ( I think) was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She made the decision to fight the diseases WITHOUT medical intervention (no chemo etc).
Rest in Peace Chrissy - only hope I have half your strength when the time comes. Cheers Vincenzo

One tough lady and a fantastic performer. As Mark McEntee mentioned, it took two diseases to beat her. RIP Chrissy. So sad. |

RIP Chrissy...the reason tens of thousands of teenage boys couldn't stand up straight away after Countdown on the ABC...
What a performer, and the first truly raunchy and sexy female singer most of us remember. What a lady! |
