Default Some 2011 U.S. models

I wondered into a Ford dealer to photograph some new 2011 models. As you can see bold agressive grills are the new look in the U.S.

The new Ford Explorer, very bold and noticeable on the road

XLT model

nifty looking mirror with blinker

Limited version

Interior of the Limited, very nice actually

Seven seats, but like all 7 seaters virtually no cargo space when the 7 seats are in use

Limited from the front

Ford Fusion, smaller than a Falcon, about the same size as a Mondeo. This was the sporty one

New Focus Titanium

Ford Edge, smaller than a Territory, as wide, but slightly shorter with less cargo space. This was quite a nice looking car on the road. They sit nice and look good with twin pipes out the rear.

That Fusion looks horrible. Looks like a 2002 era Focus sedan with a transformer front end on it - urgh..

The rest of them look great though. Focus sedan looks really good

If I had the choice between Explorer and Territory, I would pick the Explorer. I like how it looks. Nice interior too.

I like the Focus
I like the interior of the Explorer but prefer the Territory exterior.
Do not like the Fusion at all.

That explorer interior looks like a mix between a BA falcon and TF Magna. Not bad overall but not sold on the yankie grilles

Ford US are being very bold with these new cars, they stand out a lot. As stated above the grilles are a let down.

Yeah, the Fusion looks horrible. The Focus looks alright.

The Taurus is probably the best car in their lineup.

Thats what FG2 needs..a front end that says "look at me" not a front that just blends into the landscape.

The Fusion does not even look good on the road.

The Explorer is front wheel drive but has an option for AWD. The engine is a V6 210kw job but has not got a lot of torque at only 341nm, which is not a lot to pull a heavy car like that full of people or gear.

pb02, no, we did not go into Cedar Point - it was only an overnight stop for us there.

Kocho, you are right, the new Taurus looks great!

Love the wheels on the black Explorer.

Is it just me or are the rear lights on the Focus MASSIVE.

One word for the Fusion...

Everytime I see an Edge over here I think about how good it would go in Australia. It looks so good in the flesh, especially the top line models.

Love them all except the Focus. I was hoping I'd warm to it over time, but the front of it is just plain ugly.

Can really tell the difference between the US and European Device ie Focus vs the others.

I dont really dislike the grills. However I don't know how they would go on the falcon in the Australian market.

Were you able to get a pic of the Ford Flex. It stood out for me when I was over there this year and for what is essentially a people mover, it had alot of presence on the road.

Interested in your thoughts or opinion on its look as I think it would do well here.

For those who haven't seen the Ford Flex, it looks like something Land Rover would bring out if they had such a model.

I saw an Explorer on the Hume (Ford Evaluation vehicle) about two weeks ago. Actually looked good in the flesh (wouldn't buy one) and much better then I thought it would.

I really can't warm to the Focus. Seems to be getting worse.

They all look pretty good. The Fusion certainly has an individual look about it,atleast it won't be confused with other car makes on the road. The Focus looks like a Mondeo.

Same here misfit, it is a great size and a nice looking car. It would probably compete head to head with the Mazda CX7. With 210kw for the standard and 227kw for the sport it would be a tidy little goer.

My first impression was WTF too, but the more I saw it the more I liked it re the Flex.

The advertisements over there are putting it up against the luxury crossovers such as Lexus and Audi and I think it is doing well.

Anyway - here is a link with some images from the Ford site:

I'm really surprised that Ford US went with the European "Titanium" naming scheme. No other Ford US model uses Titanium. The Fusion is simply a Mazda6 with different sheet metal. Why no photos of the new Taurus?
