Ok well, after the cruise today I picked up some JMM Streetfighters.
I want to have a crack at installing them myself (or with a little help, we will see). Is there anything else I need to buy? Is there a gasket? Some people said something about glue aswell (I assume gasket glue). Also, there is some surface rust spots that I will sand off, I was thinking of spraying it black to keep the stock look. Ill use some paint that can handle the temp, (VHT), there shouldn't be any draw backs to this I assume? People can paint there coolers and pipes black, so I thought that it shouldn't effect the extractors. Any clues? Cheers!

Generally you have to get the cat cut down and a flange welded on for a start.

Yeah dont worry about that stuff, thats for the pro's, I just want to concentrate on getting them on first.
I will then take it to a shop and they can deal with the cat and 2.5' cat back.

Well the only reason I am doing it myself is because the place that I am getting the 2.5 cat back done said that they woudl charge me $150 just to fit the extractors.
Which would then negate the whole point of me buying them in the first place, I was quoted $450 for the pacey's, but I wanted these.

Might be easier and cheaper to install the extractors, measure up the required length of the cat and take it down to them to cut and weld to size.

good old extractors, they are easy compared to the ones i just did to my car, pacemaker 4 into 1's onto a 351 XD, loosen engine mounts, undo the right one, jack the car right up, jack the motor on the angle, put first piece on, put second one on, then reverse procedure, the left one goes on in about 5 minutes...
plus i have to drive it into town (10k's) with just the extractors because my exaust is buggered, good luck anyway, it makes a big difference, sounds awesome too!

catbacks can be had for $150. theyre very simple to fit. fit the extractors yourself (youre already on it). drive it down to get the CAT welded up... make sure you get 2.5" ends put on it (or a 2.5" cat).
