Okay, we may have an FC thread somewhere down the list.. but got too lazy to go beyond Page 6 to try to find it. Just thought I'd start a thread to see what FCs you guys are getting from your ride (all Focus models inclusive) as a comparison as it does seem like mine isn't all that great (without being too heavy on the right foot)

I get always get 600 ks out of a tank of 95% I don't go for l/km i just go on how far I can get on a tank.
2011 sports with manual transmission Powershift is meant to be more economical.

Recent trip from Melbourne to Sydney
If we were brave enough in the Fiances 2009 Manual 2.0L CL LV Sedan, No Cruise, we would have got 735kms from the tank !!!! Average Fuel Usage was between 6.8-7.3L/100 with a gentle right foot !! Better Mileage than my tuned XR6 with a bigger tank !

Model: 2006 Ford Focus LX
Generation: LS Type: 2.0 Manual Driving style: ave 36km/h (100% urban) Fuel Consumption: 9.1L / 100km its the wife's car so i've just grabbed that 9.1 off the trip computer. have no idea how close it is to reality. also its best to include the 'ave km/h' in these economy threads as it tells half the story. |

based purely on my recent roundtrip to Adelaide via Melbourne and Dunkeld (edit: that's from Sydney - approx 3800KM in 7 days )
Model: 2007 Ford Focus Zetec Generation: LT Type: 2.0 Petrol Manual Driving style: 95% freeway / 5% city Fuel Consumption: Avg 6.7L / 100km (computer reckoned it would get between 750-780 each time I filled up) normally it's 95% city, 8.7L/100KM and about 600KM/tank Last edited by rand0mn00b; 04-01-2012 at 01:15 AM. |

Model: 2010 Ford Focus TDCi
Generation: LV MkII Type: 6sp Manual Driving style: 70% Country + Freeway/30% City + in town Fuel Consumption: Avg 5.7 litres per 100km. On the freeway much better and in Melbourne (my partner was in the Royal Melb for five days from New Year) while the Tulla Fwy is being ripped up and relaid, a bit worse. I think if I cruised the Calder Fwy day-in/day-out and didn't go into Melbourne it'd be probably slightly less 5 litres per 100km. All up under half the historical fuel consumption of my Magna and better fuel economy than my 900cc motorbike. Mick |

Mine's down to 8.8, ave speed 40km/h, still 50/50 suburban/hwy driving. Seems to be improving with mileage under the belt (now 21,000 km).

My old ST was very good over 800k per tank on the hyway(6.5lt/100k) and around 550~600(10ish/100) about town... or less than 150 if you booted it everywhere!
Cant believe the newer Foci struggle too achieve this... even tho the old ST would kick their ****?(not including the XR5 obviously). Don the flame suit... I guess the old original Duratec 2ltr is still a better motor! |
