Default Headlights

My EF has cloudy headlights. Has the lens discoloured, or is there grime on the inside of the lens?

Theres a tutorial floating around somewhere... There yellow right?

Basically its a matter of masking the area and using some fine wet and dry, then after that very fine wet and dry, then polishing it, then using scratchX

That's right, Argon, they're yellow and virtually useless on a dark street on low beam.

So the discolouration is some kind of grime on the outside of the lens?

its uv damage mate,
you need to sand that off with some 1200 wet/dry paper(making sure to keep the lens wet as you sand), then polish the lights up again......

i dont know what polishes are available to the public, but we use an available to industry only polish

Having (yet again) read thru that tutorial, it offers only a band-aid solution. Quite a few members, both here & on Fordmods complain that by using this method, the problem returns, usually within a few short months, 1 reason being the problem is also on the inside of the headlight, as MADNC8 said, it's UV damage. Using this method you run the risk of forever "dulling" the surface of the unit. Feel free to have a look at my site (link below) & either email or PM me for other options (permanent solution).
