Default Any courier drivers out there?

I was driving home today, and this kick *** sized Mercedes Van pulled up next to me, and it was a UPS van. Then I started thinking about some of the customers that I get in for tyres, services etc, and the type of vans they drive, which are typically rusted out Mitsubishi's and HiAces - I then started to wonder if there was like a stigma attached to competition with courier drivers, sort of like Tiger vs Qantas first class?

You know, naaa nah naaa nah na - I got a mercedes, you got a messy mitsubishi.....

Ex-one tonner driver here
Yeah we had one bloke get rid of his falcon one-tonner (complete with canvassed monkey cage) for one of those Fiat Ducatos etc
I don't fully understand why you'd buy a merc van over an express or hiace for a swb lowroofer, but for a supervan i suppose i could understand

I dont know, some of the Dak Dak and Merc vans seem to go alright. They look alright too for vans.

I havent looked inside but they seem to be much wider and better access. Sort of like comparing a double house door to a garage door.

i was driving a 2000ish merc refrigerated van i really think its only good point was fuel use used to average 650km to $80 worth of diesel even running the fridge 10 hours a night apart from that servicing costs and parts costs where stupid

I was driving a Mercedes Sprinter around NZ recently. It was a 2008 2.2lt diesel, 5sp auto; went plenty hard enough to keep up with traffic easily. It was p1ss easy to drive, handled well and pulled around 10lt/100km easily. Only pain was that it was nearly 7m long.
