yea NSW is a F#@@kin rip off, not just no. plates but every thing to do with cars.
you need a pink slip, green slip, then registration fees, blue slip if car hasent had a pink slip for over a year- this is just to get the car on the road every year.
this state is F@#@KED

yEah but while nsw is a pain every year how many old piece of rubbish completely unroadworthy cars do you see with NSW rego.. I live on the VIC/NSW BORDER and i reckon 99% of dodge mobiles are vic registered.. At least the NSW system gets the buckets of rust off the road or fixed to a moderate level of safeness..

Cheers,
Nik

I"d have to agree with you there roosta......While I hate having to pay for all the cap just to drive my car on a NSW road....I do appreciate the fact that there seem to be less old rust buckets that are a danger to all on the road....

OLD HIPPY.. Some people don't care wat they drive as long as it keeps them dry and gets them from place to place.. Might not be stylish but its a mode of transport.. All i am saying is atleast NSW does something to keep the cars registered in their state safe for the rest of use..

I know i would be fuming if some idiot bogan in a rusty old sigma with only dodgy bomb insurance smashed into my car.. I always look at it like that...

I bought my plates off ebay.. Cost $150.. They will do for now.. going down to vicroads on saturday.. yay.. at least they have some relevance to my car..

For those wondering.. new plates.. [DFDFDF].. LOL..

Cheers,
Nik

Thanks for that Walkinshaw!

Is there anywhere online you can check what's available to use, or do you have to ring and check?

you dont pay $400 as soon as you get them. it is $400 anually, so when you purchase them it, the cost is worked out on how much rego you have left for that year when you purchase your plates. eg, if you have 6 months left, you only pay $200 etc. then at your next rego you will pay $400
