Just wondered if anyone has any info on this (and similar) car protection packages. Are they worth the huge $$$?
After signing the contracts for my new car, I was pressured into forking out another $1000 for treatments to protect the paintwork and upholstery etc. Sounded over-priced to me so I passed. Anyone had this work done before? Thanks |

Waste of time and money.
How do I know? I worked at a Chrysler dealership, only we had VIP Total car. I kid you not, its wax in a bottle which the nuffies out back smear over the paint. It lasts about 1.5 washes. Basically, it does sweet f... all. |

Thanks BLC. I called the motoring assoc just after I posted here and they said basically the same as you. Can't recommend - absolutely unnecessary.
Glad I didn't get talked into it. Though I must say - there wasn't much chance of that. The full on sales pitch was a complete turn off. |

I only fell for this once, many years ago when I bought my first new car. Never again. My advice is: deal hard, pay the money, and politely refuse all offers of special treatments.
