Default A few pics of the (broken) ED...

Well, as some may have read in the Melb Mini-meets thread, my car came off a little broken after losing control and sliding around into a gutter. Stupid mistake, i was being a clown, learnt a lesson. I'll quote what i said in the other thread (i'll quote it down the bottom after the pics) to save me telling it again. Luckily, i had just put "lows" in the back instead of my usual "super-low" springs, so the body never hit the gutter.

Here are some pics that show the rear damage, but i have none of the front 1/4 panel.

Here's one of the gutter (below). Looks like i wasn't the first to go through it, my one is the bit on the right, you can see the freshly broken concrete, with oil off to the side. Oh, and the picture is deceiving, the gutter is almost a foot high.

Short story:
Quote:
For those that may wanna know what happened, i lost control at around 80km/h after about 100m of controlled powerslide (almost full lock) when the auto grabbed 3rd gear and sent the tyres spinning at 190km/h instead of around 120. Was my own stupid fault, i forgot to leave the selector in 2nd like usual. I won't drift an auto single spinner ever again, i'm too scared LOL. Was bound to happen, but it took over a year of this shit for me to come unstuck, lucky i guess.
Quote:
The front right wheel (an ajr wheel) hit first but miraculously rolled up the curb (it shouldn't have it was facing the wrong way to roll up) with nothing but a superficial scratches that'll rub out.
The right rear took the full force of the impact side-on, but luckily it was only a stocky. The car hit with enough force to push the diff out the side of the car (hence a broken watts link or whatever where it goes into the diff's back cover.) I managed to tear a foot long chunk of reinforced 6" thick concrete clean from the gutter with the back wheel, so it's fuct, and i think i may have wrecked a caliper/disc as well as the diff/axel housing.
Thanks to those who offered help : , but we took the car back to Ararat, a bit far for most to travel to help out LOL.
InitialD, i'll chat to ya in a couple of days re: the EB diff you have, i may need some stuff.

yeah that sucks..been there and done that. Its alot worse when you fudge the front end up; I had a qoute from pedders; $2500..no thanks

I ended up getting the e-series gang to help me out; Karl, Wayne and an unnamed expert did it for me for less than half that.

Good luck with it. Its sucks because you know how aviodable it was. You should hunt around for a 3.45 lsd, its a good excuse!

Before this goes any further.
the mention of Melb minimeets in the initial post does NOT mean this event happened at a eseries meet.
The discussion on why onereded wasnt going to be attending the next one was that his car was damaged, no other reason.

Yeah was worse than that, we had bent it back a little in an effort to be able to remove the wheel by that stage.

Dan, neil101, thanks heaps for the offers but i've already sourced an entire diff to replace mine. Not an LSD dammit, but it was cheaper than one.
