lol yeh the cover isnt the technical term, i dont know what its called.

when you look at the lock on the door from the outside of the car, there is no shape for the key to fit, its just the lock barrel.

haha i dont know if im explaining it proply.

^^ Haha @ super clue

New or replacement door lock barrels can be bought in sets. (try ebay)
Do you have the tibbe keys/locks or normal looking key/locks.
Time for an upgrade? They're not that hard to replace after removing the door trim.

Why not take the Barrel to a Locksmith and see if he can fix it? Some of these locksmiths do have parts left over. One other though would be to get a second hand one and have a Locksmith recode it?

My parent's EBII also has the missing covers, and it opens fine with the key. It seems to be a problem on the EBs. One thing I have noticed on the EB is the lock covers all seem to be the same shape, a hexagon stretched vertically. Of course, I may be wrong.

Sort of like this above, (if you can understand my rough diagram!) Therefore there should be replacement covers, you could try the wreckers (just make sure the key fits through the cover before clipping it on the car)

I think i have this problem. I cant open my passenger door with the key and the drivers lock looks like it has been tampered with, like it's missing this cover thingy you speak of.

If were talking about the same thing here....Mine is also missing, was like that when I got the car, but can stoll open the doors and everything fine. Its just like this little metal flap that sits just over the keyhole...

yeh thats what im talking about that flap/cover thing. most of you who are missing it can still open the door with your key tho, i cannot. i might have to get a locksmith like some of you suggested.

thanks for the help guys. appreciate it
