"Jeep has unveiled a retro styled Wrangler, dubbed the Wrangler 75th Salute concept, to commemorate the start of production of its Willys MB army vehicle.
The concept is based on the two-door Wrangler Sport and was also built at the same factory. Jeep has styled the 75th Salute to appear as close to the original Willys vehicle as possible, with no doors or roof and olive green paint scheme. Other exterior features of the concept include 16-inch steel wheels with 32-inch military non-directional tyres, hood latches, rear mounted spare tyre, tow hooks on the front and rear bumpers and low back canvas seat all pay homage to the original Willys MB. However, underneath the 75th Salute concept resides the brand's current 3.6-litre Penstar V6 which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission." http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/j...18-gq86qj.html

.. and here I was thinking all Jeeps are retro styled, although I'm not sure that retro applies when you haven't ever changed it.

Maybe Ford should build their own version as a tribute to the Jeep GPW?
(Ford had to build Jeeps when Willy's couldn't keep up with production requirements during WWII) |

Cool looking car, probably not the most practical, but I would love to add one to my shed if funds were not an issue, just for week end cruises to the beach with the dogs
