Hi all,
Euroa ShownShine is about to review the different categories that are judged and the trophies that are awarded. Because the ORSM Ford Cruise Car Club supported our event so well at the last event we are after your thoughts as to what categories you would like to see judged. We have had some suggestions, Best GT Falcon. Best modern Ford, (up to 10 yrs old). Best Vintage Ford Best Classic Ford Best Ford in Show Best American Ford I am not saying that we will be having this many trophies but give it some thought as to what you would like, because we have had so much support from the Ford owners we are going to give out more trophies, but it is a hard decision as to what categories. Your input will be appreciated. John, ShownShine Committee, Euroa. |

Thanks Velociraptor82 and JAKHMR for your suggestions, I need as much input as possible so that when we decide on trophies we have a really good base to grow from.
A GT trophy is looking like a definite, but might need to make it Classic GT and Modern GT with no 2nd place, what do you think? The Focus, well i can see your point, had a quick look at it at Euroa, nice car, but it does tend to fall between categories, what do you suggest. John |

Im not sure on that one. It may be best to speak with owners of Zetec, Focus XR5's and XR5 Mondeos as they are completely another categorie. As for the GT class, Classic and Modern GT sounds great IMO.

From the small number of shows I've visited, I haven't found too many moden euro fords on display so probably 1 trophy to cover them all would be enough, as to older euros such as cortina's & escorts i guess it just kinda depends on the number of entrants as to weather it is better to go for 1 to cover all teh classic euros or bets cortina, best escort etc...
In fact the americans could probably work the same way as the euros as well. ie 1 tropy for each of the models... ie mustang/thunderbird/hot rod... etc In regards to the Falcons & GT's I have to agree with JAKHMR's suggestions as there are always alot of them out there. I guess the point of it all is that we all want a fair chance at winning. Seeing a Lambo win by default beacuse he is the only one there feels very unfair compared to the the guy who owns a base model falcon competing against millions of others. I'd like to see a reasonable number of entrants in each category. ie not too many that one feels intimidated by the competition, and not so few that the entrant wins just for showing up.

How about:
Best X series Best E series I have noticed (Not being bias lol) that eseries are not rewarded alot in shows. it seams to be all old x series then skip the e's then to the ba/ current cars. i dont think its fair putting e-series and b-series in the same catagory. the b-series is alot more modern, has different styling and has a better overall factory finish than early e-series. all you have to do it take a look at the engine bays and you can see the difference. just my thoughts. matt |
