was an absolute scam... you can't do that much advertising and then sell out in 4 mintues... not one of the 20 guys in the office got anything for the whole sale... just a marketing ploy if you ask me :(

You mean a business might launch a sale as a marketing ploy? What a surprise!

it was their 2nd birthday, and they have monthly 'sale a thons' so youd reckon they'd know what the bandwidth traffic would be like, and the stocks they need to carry, so to sell out of your hourly items within 10 minutes on a site that no one could get into, IMO is very suss. this was advertised half page in the herald sun ffs. did anyone here actually manage to get something???

I'm sure they would've LOVED to have more stock so they could sell more and make more money. Do you think they didn't want to sell to you? Have you never heard of ads with the disclaimer 'while stocks last'?

Was it a scam? No! (do you even know what a scam is?)

Was it a marketing ploy? Yes!

Did it work? Looks like it!

i don't know how you'd run a business nommic, but i'd hate to be a customer of yours if you're willing to pi$$ off 99% of your registered users, for the sake of getting your name out there. no, it probly wasn't a scam but as I stated, 'IMO' it was a suss sale. Now if you don't use the site or if you're not familiar with the story behind the thread, maybe your sarcasm would be appreciated elsewhere
