EF rocker arm will on ly make a difference to your wallet mate.. have you changed the cam in the car?.. if so then you my need shims.. if not then replace all the lifters.. a new set will cost ya round $150 - $200.. don't just try to find the one or two faulty ones as experience shows you will chase it all round the rocker assembly..

That being said i have replaced my lifters 3 times and they still tick.. Good luck with it..

Cheers,
Nik

the old tappets hey? love that name. if it is the hydraulic lifters go to repco not ford. get a some but make sure they are the same as the original ones. repco have 2 types i'll see if i can dig up a pic of em. i'm pretty sure the darker ones are the ones you want.

Shim away mate.. start with small ones if you need some i get mine custom made.. depending on thickness.. i am running 3.2mm now and it still ticks away like a mo fo..

1.2mm would prob be a good start.. before you go replacing the expensive lifters..

Cheers,
Nik

Maybe changing the whole rocker assembly but not jus one arm.. there are 12 arms in there after all.. May help.. i doubt it though as i think the Eb-ED was same as EF-EL..

wouldent no if they would give you any power upgrade they do look better

but yes they will fit you'r head bar late EL setup

i was wondering how do you bleed(probably not right terminology) the new liffter's before you throw them back in the roller rocker's? just drop them in a tin of oil.?

The ED-EL rocker assembly is stronger than an EA-EB it has metal washers on both sides of the rocker arms where the earlier models wore out. I recently changed the rocker assembly (off an EL) in my EA and the harsh ticking that was there for about 5minutes after startup is completly gone.

Push a screwdriver inside the lifter and hold it upwards to drain out about 2 or 3 drops of oil.
