Default Adelaide....

Bored after work on Thursday night, I was stareing down the barrell of another long weekend of doing nothing... So the idea came to go for a drive... Where to... It was decided Adelaide. A couple of mates and my sis, we drove that night... Good drive in my mates courtsey car (he's ordered a new mondeo xr5 and its taking forever to arrive... he got this as a run around car that we have put 6000kms on in the last week, insert melbourne and adelaide) its an XT...

Anyway, the point of all this is, Adelaide is the home to the Commodore and more specifically, the Bogan!! I've never seen so many commodores in one city and so few falcons!! Its crazy!! I know the factory is there, but even in
Melbourne you dont see it being Ford heavy. What the go?! From VH to VE, the city is full of done up holdens!!?? It was like being a straight guy in a gay bar...!!

Coming from a South Aussie I feel your pain! you should try living here... Every time (just about anyway) I come up next to a P platter (usually anyway) and they see my XR and hear it they straight away want a run... Fortunately there are the odd exceptions to the bogans driving Holdens...

Yeah, all the commodores here once belonged to the elder generation ( yes we are renowned for our aging population amonst other bad things) and these hoons pick em up cheap and start the bling / soul destroying process. Damed if I can work out why so many of them get around with steelies on the back and mags on the front though.

I know where you went wrong. Next time you come to Adelaide, stop hanging around the Elizabeth area. :P

This is easily the worst thing about adelaide,it is holden hell, doesnt realy matter though most of them are just vl,vn's,vs's etc and any decent ford will blow them out of the water,it is pathetic.

Yeah Elizabeth sucks!! So does most of the Northern Suburbs :

If only we had a drag strip, then you would have seen a lot of Fast Fords.

agreed. Adelaide is riddled with holden lovers. ESPECIALLY in the north. Southern suburbs FTMFW

We stayed in the North East (I think) part of town!! It was an infestation... We werent too far from Elizabeth (think my mate said it was 10 minutes away). I just couldnt believe it... And it wasnt just SS or HSV's, in one day I have seen the entire V series with all varients, be it omega, SS, SV, S, SSV, Berlina, Calais, you name it. I only saw the odd XR8 (few XR6's N/A). Every cop car was a holden too!! Lots of speed camera's too... Felt like melbourne a bit.

Also, how do you guys deal with the oldies... They just sit in a lane, totally oblivious to the speed limit!! I found that really strange esp for a sydney person. No one changes lanes for miles!! No matter if the light is red and they are behind 15 cars in the left lane, and the right one is empty, they just sit there!!??!!

Strange city...

Yeah most people dont realise that there is a left lane which p isses me off to no end.

In saying that when i was in Melbourne last year i felt like the only person who wasn't crazy. People there are all over the shop!

Maybe next time you can stay down south here near the beach and we'll make sure you get to see lots of fords.

I would steer clear of the northern and southern suburbs, they are both holden heaven, if you want to see plenty of fords you would be better of staying in the cbd or the leafy eastern suburbs.

While both are infested with holden's, the south has better beaches. From Glenelg to Silver Sands, the beaches just get better.

PS. Stay away from Maslins though, unless you like it like that. :P

There's nothing wrong with Elizabeth.

Northern Suburbs have hotter girls and better party's.

All the decent girls you see in the city are usually from the Northern area. Our country girls though..well...don't go there.

Bahaha if they are in the city, they should be home babysitting their 6 kids.

I've never seen a shopping centre with so many pram parks as elizabeth shopping centre. Once they're 14 they must feel dirty if they havent popped one out yet and lost a front tooth.

There are a lot of pricks down here that think their holden is choice-to-da-max. But there is plenty of tough fords down here that make it a better place to be. And as for hot chick's? Moana in the summer time.

And anyways, the eastern suburbs are full of soccer mums in 4x4's that have their noses pointed so high its a wonder they dont suffer from constant nose bleeds. :

I've lived in both the southern (morphett vale/christies area) and Northern (paralowie) suburbs, and there are holden driving excessively-feral bogan idiots a-plenty in both, usually accompanied by their above-mentioned toothless sprog-poppin baby-bonus-grabbing chain smoking 15yo 'missus'...
who all think that because I have long hair, a goatee, and drive a tough old car must know where to get "the good stuff"..

doesnt matter what part of the city you visit it seems commodores and p platers are the perfect combo.

i just spent a week in moonta and surrounding areas and there are plenty of them up there.

id rather see a commodore done up with some taste, that a ricer buzzing past my house at 2am. atleast 5L commodores sound alright.

GOLD. But you forgot to add that those 6 kids all had different fathers. Plus do you find that all the girls dye their hair peroxide blonde to attract the male hicks too?

Its not uncommon for these toothless wilder beasts to have 5 kids to 5 different Drop kicks this then provides us with the next generation of Ferals.

Gotta love Adelaide - its abundant with idiots. Especially gotta love the bogan population of the northern suberbs.... You know, the ones that 'dress up' in their mass produced Holden/HRT/HSV pit crew shirts to go out for a formal dinner with the 'family'.... always good for a long hard laugh

Then of course we cant forget West Lakes Mall on a Thursday night... omg...

Muzza paradise with "fully sick young bro's chilling out in their Adidas 3 strip trackies and white bonds tshirts with generic haircuts patting each other on the back and congratulating each other on their milo tin exhuasted, fruit box engined sh%^boxes"

Naturally accompanied by their 'modelesque' 13yo sprog smoking herd of girls....

Lucky for me, I only have to drive through those Northern 'burbs, and keep on driving. I do however get to see some of their finest on the train to and from work. Get some real pearlers on there. I refuse to travel on them outside of normal peak/rush hours, I do value my safety.
Is there a reason why they have extra security and Police on the Gawler (North) and Norlunga (South) lines after 7pm???? Anyone would think that they go through the lower socio-economic suburbs in Adelaide. Bet they don't have these problems in Medindie!
Even Sourbastard faints in Elizabeth.
