Default Rear wheel bearing?

I have a 99 xls ute ,there is a wump wump sound coming from the left rear wheel .Would a wheel bearing make this noise?How hard is it to change the bearings on a live axle au?

u need to press them out, they are fun, id get it diagnosed by a mech thou, as carrier bearing noises can be carried through the axle to the outside & immitate wheel bearing noises

Just had my right bearing done last week. What a difference it makes, besides the noise. Cost about $460 inc labour.

Wump wump sound is usually a tire problem, maybe a bulge?
