Default Any spider lovers able to id this?

This sucker was in a truck at work today, is it an Aussie tarantula? Or just a big huntsman or similar?

I think it may be a native tarantula too. A friend of mine would be able to tell straight away as he actually milks native tarantulas (as well as native scorpions and funnelwebs) for their venom. He then conducts research to find medical uses for the venom.

I would empty my bowels, inadvertently, on that thing.

And then run away screaming like a little girl.

Respect all forms of life! Except flys and mozzies, if theres a spider in ur house, trap it in a jar and put it outside if ur not man enough to pick it up, in case of spiders as big as ur face, run away screaming, by the time u get back to where it was, it'll be gone..

Truck driver flicked it out of the trailer, it hid under the wheels. We didn't go out of our way to kill it. No tears shed here but.

I caught a horse fly once. I had never seen anything that big so I put it in a margarine container, once the family amusement was had I soaked it with fly spray.

Next day I opened the container....& IT BUZZED !!!!!!!

My theory is this, if it wanted to survive, it wouldn't have come inside my house!

I had a White Tail spider follow me around the dining room table once, but that's a bed time story for the grand kids.

Kill too many spiders you will have excess 'mozzies flys and roaches'

But that's ok, I'll just use Mortein.............

degreaser works faster. Mortein takes too long and makes them angry.
Nothing worse than a ****ed off spider running and hiding only to have yourself worry for the next few hours.

Mortein probably isn't as powerful now as it was in the 80`s. I think they removed some chemicals that caused lung growths and decided since then to blame it on passive smoking.

True though, a can of spray on a spider like the OP uploaded, be like going Bear hunting with a .22

Lol, my car was parked about ten metres away with all the windows down...
There was no way that spider was surviving that visit. I don't think insurance covers fire damage when I set fire to the car in the belief that the spider has found it's way in.

Scary thing is, it was run over by a fully loaded b double....

That is no damn huntsman...When you squash a huntsman there is not much to them...That thing is alot more substantial.

A mate swears by Brake Cleaner....instant death, none of this running around stuff.
