Likewise, I did play a couple. Great voice. Sad to see another one go.
Glad he made the Long Way To The Top concerts though. I must read the book he wrote.

Im only 20, But i saw him play 4 times, met him once, read his books.

The man had an extrodinary life.

The amazing this is he was getting around Lobby Lloyd Alot at the moment, to tour before llobby died of cancer, and throrpe went down first!

A Great Bloke, A Good Laugh, A Great Musician and a Bloddy Legend.

Heard the news on radio while driving to work on Western Ring Rd. this morning. It had just stopped raining, sun breaking through, and there was the hugest rainbow in the sky.
I thought... How appropriate!!

One of Australia's true greats with a huge 40 year career.

Was reinvigorating his career and exploring new music (Moroccan) and ways of challenging himself.

RIP Thorpey. You'll be missed by your many fans...

RIP Billy Thorpe. A colossus of Australian music, he paved the way for all to follow. An absolute character. Never got to see him live, never got off my **** to go and regretting it now. I have a DVD of his reunion gig with the Sunbury Aztecs at the Boggo Rd Jail in Brisbane dating from 1994 and it just blew me away. Read his books, they are a hoot!! An absolute must read!!

Condolances to his family and friends.

A fitting tribute would be to put some Aztecs in the cd player, crank it to 11, crack a tinny and enjoy!!
