Default New Sponsor Banner Header

So most of you may have noticed our new and improved sponsor banner, in which, on rotation, our sponsors are displayed in random order.

Keep a watch out for the rotation, there will be some interesting links appearing shortly

This banner will re-size automatically for any window and may take a couple of moments to load.

We have thoroughly tested this over the last couple of weeks, but please don't hesitate to let us know if anything pops up out of the ordinary.

Another step forward in moving the forums in the right direction.

Some of the sponsors graphics don't fit a 100% into the banner sometimes (not that I'm bagging the idea mind you - just constructive feedback).

But now every sponsor does not get a 100% hit win anyone logs on - they are random hits??

Well not really random, they are timed but you know what I mean.

I realise that the Banner was getting a bit large with all the sponsors noted at once but it was more in your face.

I can set your profile show them all the time :P, but taking into account the amount of current sponsors and the new ones in line, this is the only positive step that could have been taken, if anything with the continual rotation, the visual change will draw you to what sponsor is on screen.

Because they are last on the list? Not everyone, is on the one page for more than 15 seconds. Then once they go to a new page, the list starts over again.

It's nicer nonetheless.

MHP

We play a supportive role in the forums , offering prizes etc for the punters to enjoy, and can only say from our end we could not be happier with the amount of support we get from all FFAU admin and in general the forum members, and to me is not that important to be on a banner up top, Its what we do behind the scenes that counts.

good spotting though and hope your car is still looking sweet as ever.

They are a sponsor and an integral part of the forums "nonetheless"

What I mean is, that they are last to be displayed? There is no random rotation/order cycling, working..

So "nonetheless", I'm only helping..

The "On The Spot Paint Repairs" add is almost impossible to read. Perhaps they may want something a tad less cluttered.....

Agree with LG. ASL, Autotech and AWC are getting more exposure as they are the 3 logo's that appear at the top of every new page loaded. If we could get something like what LS1.com.au guys have where a new logo/sponsor appears everytime a new page is loaded, would be good.

It's an improvement (didn't like all them logos at the top of the page all the time), but needs fine tuning so all sponsors get eqaul air time.

The initial 3 (which are precached to avoid auto-resizing issues) are predetermined in the code. I suspect that can be changed easily enough.

In terms of logo sizes we are obviously still working on those - some of them are a little unclear after resizing (like the On Spot one) but we will be requesting new ones to replace those.

This has been a couple of months hard slog to get right and a tidy sum of Laminge's own money along the way to pay for the external development and it represents an attempt to remove the cluttered look at the top of the page especially for those with lower screen resolutions.

Cheers
Russ

I noticed it straight away when i didnt have to scroll down each time the page loaded...

GREAT WORK! Looks spiffy!!

Just wondering, i may just be having a little trouble coz im blonde, but is there a way that you can click to open a full list of sponsers from that banner, so say you want to go to AWC, but you just missed them, you dont have to wait till the logo comes up again?

The AWC forum would be the next step, there will be some changes, maybe having a stable banner in each Sponsor Forums

Look great guys but as was mentioned the G&D does lose a fraction on the left...

Must admit, it does look 100% to that cluttered look that was happening at top...

Well done

**on the note of the database errors, it is only for a short time (usually around the same time also) that this happens... For the 10minutes or so that there are issues, surely that isn't that long??? :

Once you see the database error message, float off to somewhere else for 10 minutes or so.. by the time you wander back it would be up and running smooth as again (hopefully)

Can the 'Our Sponsors' heading (top left) be a link to a page with all the sponsors on it listed with a link to their website for quick and easy finding them.
