Default Future of 400Mhz - UHF CB - planning underway.

In answer to your questions over there:

1) 12.5Khz is not a problem provided there is an offset, maybe 5 or the defacto standard 9Mhz for TTR activity. The current 750Khz offset makes it difficult and expensive to maintain isolation.
2) Analog FM should not be replaced by digital as it will reduce range, make incumbent equipment and systems redundant and inflate CPE prices.
3) 25w over 5w is only 7db but increases the RF current to a level where users who misoperate their equipment could cause injury or death. The increase in range is insignificant. Also on existing TTR it would require another 7db of isolation which would
result in at least 1.5-2db insertion loss.

But of course it is the government so it will be a clusterflug........
