Default What Mods To Do Next

just need some recommendations on what to do next. I have an 2/12 inch exhaust from the cat back, am putting tuned length pacemakers and high flow cat on next week. have SS Induction and K&N filter in so far. Seems to rev out a bit more now before changing up a cog. What I am wondering is if i should get a chip or go with a cam kit from Crow Cams or some other brand that does packages. can any one give me some ideas and price on both and what they recommend. I'm after 200 rwkw.
[If it's gonna cost that much for 200rwkw then bugga that, what about 150rwkw]?

I'm guessing you have a 4.0L I6... Theres no way your gonna hit 200rwkw anytime soon. Largest power made from a I6 N/A, is around 180rwkw.

Your gonna need to look at forced induction to hit over the 200+ mark. A simple setup will set you back around $5000, and will give you around 220-250rwkw. So if you plan on going turbo, dont bother with the extractors.

How much money you planning on spending?

I think that you can get 200rwkws but you will need a blank cheque Fred. You can get 170-180 rwkws with a dev 5a complete kit.But I have yet to see one that idles smoothly yet.

hi frewah,

for the type of cash your talking about you might as well go for a chip imho. My car has similar specs with the notable diffrence being a Unichip, and performance spark plugs and ignition leads.

With that stuff im hitting 153rwkw on an AUII XR6 VCT.

Like LG and Useless are suggesting - if your trying to go for more than that, you have to start either opening up the engine (which to my mind only creates more problems than power) or go for forced induction. both of which are probably around triple the budget you're working with.

A unichip & tune should run about 1K i think (maybe less if you get a second hand chip - always popping up in the for sale thread), and then throw in a few smaller mods while you're there and you'll still come in under budget...

If you want more power make a decision now with either the n/a route or forced induction. Don't stuff round with a cam etc if you're just gonna go turbo/supercharged later on.

Like the others have said, go a chip or maybe even consider a change in diff ratio depending on what model car you have now.
