Default So what did you do with your 888 merchandise?

I have just been doing a big clean up and found my pile of Ford/V8SC/Indy merchandise including all the signed stuff.
Most of it is important to me and has been packed up but I decided that all the 888 shirts, hats etc do not belong here anymore so I have donated it to the Salvos so it can be worn by people who will never be betrayed by those from whom they acquired it.

I kept all my Lowndes stuff as he is a driver and blaming him for 888 going to holden would be like blaming Heath Ledger for Brokeback Mountain.....

So what did you/will you do with your 888 stuff?

lets cut the crap firstly........ Lowndes and Whincup are no different from hamilton or button, THEIR teams, those who pay them are the ones who were no longer being supported by the Team we so much take for granted but dont hold accountable - FORD, holden paid their team money, so its only fair they show support for the manufacturer who supported them

you dont get a donation from fordforums, then say how much LS1 forums supports you........

i couldnt afford the $4million asking price for 888 merchandise, so i kept it all Ford, but i got whincup and lowndes to sign my ford flag at the townsville 400 and my townsville 400 hat........ ill treasure them

actually i lie, i got a whole heap of FREE merchandise from Norton 360 which was all mainly 888 merchandise.... hat, lanyard, towel, 4gb USB key, free tickets to the event, stubby holder, and shirt signed by lowndes and whincup

DJR let me down when i waited hours in line for signatures then told everyone who didnt have DJR merchandise to get lost.......... never will i ever show that man support for anything, not even a valve cap!

A lot of you guys are probably a bit younger than me, but this is how I felt when Lowndes left Holden.
I thought it was a low act especially after Brocky had taught him a lot, given him a big break and then he slaps him in the face.
Not looking for an arguement, just as I saw it at the time.

Got lots of house painting to do. also need a new shirt for working on the car with.
At least the shirt I have has the ford logo on it.

back on topic
i never after 06 bought any t888 gear as back then it was a little bit red for me!
except when they brought out their special bathurst shirts and caps including the darwin 08 "red dust polo"
i had all this bathurst stuff signed and recently sold it all on ebay for a tidy profit to help fund my 2010 itinerary for v8sc.
thank you t888

another option for the poll: sold it on ebay

i have kept the model cars

I have only ever really bought "FORD" stuff. Not shirts & jackets to wear, but coolers, caps, some flags, lanyards etc. I support all the ford teams, not just one or two (although I do hope FPR do better at some point) Have to get myself at some stage a Ford Racing shirt.

When I used to go to the races, I used to laugh at all the holden tools in their Castrol Perkins hats, GRM Valvoline/Cummins shirts, HRT/Mobil team jackets.... talk about having a bet each way... and when a holden team won they be giving the Ford fans crap about how good 'their' team was. My question was always; which one?

I do have, and will keep, a Gibson Motorsport Cap from CL's first year, when the car was sponsored by Ford. It has the Gibson MS logo, CL's name, the Ford logo, and "00" on it. I also have a Gibson Motorsport Mechandise catalogue too. He drove for Ford that year. Plus I have met the guy and had lunch with him and found him to be a decent bloke, and he is a hell of a driver.

x3. although, i may not wear mt t8 stuff as often i will always have respect for Lowndes and will continue to follow him, not holden.

That being said, the FPR merchandise is looking more classier every year.

I dont have a lot of 888 merchandise but the lowndes/whincup diecast collection will be staying as it makes up part of Fords bathurst and championship winning cars. People should think before they get rid of stuff because some of it may be collectible in the future, as dissapointing as it will be to see the smiling assasin driving for the opposition next year he did give his all while racing for Ford.
