Default RS2000 Escort - FREE TRANSPORT

I have decided to sell again, my work was kind enough to pay me a whole lot more and I think I am either going to buy the other project RS I had in mind outright OR buy a Fiesta XR4 and be done with it. With the pressure of time to tinker and the pressure from the dark side I think selling is the best option.

I will have the car on display at the "50th Anniversary of the Caversham Grand prix" on Fathers Day 2nd September.

I am after $12990 ono...and open to offers

FREE delivery thas been included in the price to most major capital cities of Australia.

My RS went through a ground up resto a few years ago and since I have owned the car I have contributed to restoring and upgrading to bring it up to its very good condition that it is in now. I had it licensed only a few months back in Perth and it passed with flying colours.

It was repainted during the resto in the original 'Burnt Orange" with the RS2000 decals & stripes to fit the sporting image. The scheel front seats and back bench have been retrimmed in black with grey cloth and matching door trims. A Kenwood CD stereo system has been fitted to the car with a custom rear parcel shelf for the speakers, no holes in the door trims or kick panels.

The engine had been rebuilt by previous owners, not sure how long ago. Its running a mild cam and a near new 2 1/2" exhaust with pacemaker extractors. The weber carby was rebuilt & re-jetted with a standard-ish aircleaner (great for keeping the boys in blue and licensing centres happy). The brakes had been totally rebuilt also and the pads are still at about 50%. The suspension has been upgraded with nolathane bushes, stiffer springs and has been lowered. I have just had the wiring in the engine bay and behind the dash proffesionally replaced or fixed (costing over $1k). It also has brand new set of 14x6 Superlites with 185x60 Bridgestone Potenzas, also the guards have been rolled incase you wish to put wider tyres on the car. As usual new points/plugs/leads/coil/battery etc. have been replaced. I have done a lot more things to the car but there are too many to remember let alone list.

My RS has definitely had a lot of money spent on it over the years. I am not saying its perfect, the car is 28 years old, but I think it's worth the money and a very collectable and classic car as we all on these boards know.

I have seen your car Sean and I have to say this...you will miss it a whole lot more than you can imagine when it goes. I sold a lovely Escort about 10 years ago and replaced it with an EF XR6, and there isnt a day goes by when I dont regret that sale.

Nice Car,Just remember next time you buy an RS as good as yours you may be paying double for it though, mines staying in the shed for keeps.Look at aussie muscle car prices now, the sporty GT/RS/lotus variant cortina/capris and escorts are the next affordable muscle car,but who knows for how long.
XR4s will be a dime a dozen for at least a few years

I'm full on Old Skool, but I've put my name down for an XR4. Mark my words, they WILL be the RS2000 of the future unless Ford start getting serious and bring out the full house RS Fiesta.
Having said that.....I have a couple of RS2000's tucked away as an "investment." A year or so ago I resisted the urge to sell my 4dr and suddenly I end up with a coupe as well. At this present time, I can afford to hang onto them, but maybe in the future, it will make more sense to hand them on to someone else. I think as long as the cars go to good owners, who realise what they are buying, it all good.
