Default ea brake pad replacement question?

I am replacing the front brake pads of my EA fairmont and dont seem to be able to retract the caliper piston, I am trying to push the piston in with a 'G' clamp.

Is this the right way to do this? Are there any other things I need to do?

How do you guys do it?

Sounds right, I have used G clamps before, but you have to be carefull to push the piston in straight, or it will catch and jam. Before I knew better I used to crack the breather nipple to release pressure, however this is not necessary, but might help if you are really having problems. If you have jamed the piston it might be worth pumping the brake to pop it out again to start a fresh.
